Gongguan Night Market 公館夜市

MRT :  Gongguan Station (公館站) exit 1 or exit 4

Gongguan night market is another popular night market especially for student since it's near 國立臺灣大學 NTU(National Taiwan University) and 國立台灣科技大學 NTUST (National Taiwan University of Science and Technology). Most stores and shops offer reasonable prices in order to attract students. Gongguan would be your best market to find many things such as shoe stores, clothing, accessories, cosmetics, and umbrellas.

Here you can also found many different type of restaurant from Thailand food, Middle Eastern Halal Food, Hot Pot, Western Style Food, Noodles Shop. And of course many many a good bite food for afternoon snack. Check our Youtube video below for Michelin Street Food and cheap delicacy dessert

Gua bao (割包), also known as pork belly buns, is a Taiwanese snack food consisting of a slice of stewed meat and other condiments sandwiched between flat steamed bread. You should try this vendor 藍家割包 , its pork belly buns is heavenly good.

You can said this is Taiwanese traditional style of hamburger or sandwich, created with steamed Chinese style bread stuffed with braised pork belly. In Lan Jia Gua Bao (藍家割包) they used steamed bread buns similar to the bread used for baozi or mantou. The pork meat can be combination of either fatty or lean pork, most people will go half and half is best – don’t go too lean or you’ll lose the flavor.

Hsiung Chi Scallion Pancake 雄記蔥抓 is located within an alley of Gongguan Night Market too. Another Michelin Gourmand Pancakes price start only from NTD.30. The stall offering various combinations with additions of egg, cheese, ham, bacon, and corn. This popular Taiwanese snack chong zhua bing (蔥油餅) is a savoury flatbread made from dough, soft inside, crispy on the outside, and goes well with their soy sauce. I just love their simple flacky pancake and egg, I would want one of those each time I went there if I don’t meet the long queue.

You must try this one!! There’s a pretty famous chicken vendor at Gongguan and you will expect long queue on the corner. I liked both sweet mayonnaise and sweet sour dressing, both are delicious.

Then for dessert you can when to 國立臺灣大學 NTU (National Taiwan University) to get some crispy waffle and delicious handmade ice cream sandwich. The vanilla ice cream was sandwiched between two salty soda crackers so good, this is the products from the NTU farm.

The pizza is also good; its thin crust was crispy and a bit of spiciness. The chips just so so for me. ...
