What you should eat in Taiwan ^^

If you're in Taiwan, one of the best thing you can do is culinary trip. The following were some of my favorites food, snack and beverages that I like to eat in Taiwan:

1. Braised Pork Rice (魯肉飯) & Ribs Stewed in medicinal herbs(藥燉排骨)
Pork spare ribs slowly braised in medicinal broth, usually the stall also sell braised pork rice. I love eating this especially in the winter so yummy (^oo^). I would recommended to try this dish in Raohe Street Night Market (饒河街觀光夜市), the market near Songshan Station(松山車站) and the nearest MRT station is Houshanpi Station (後山埤站).

2. Beef Noodles Soup (牛肉麵)
Beef noodle is one of the most popular dish among the Taiwanese, usually it made of stewed beef, beef broth, vegetables and noodles. I do like Ding Tai Fung's (鼎泰豐) beef noodles, the light flavors of soup and juicy beef which make it a popular choice in the summertime or wintertime. Not only it's overprice but also there were A LOT of people waiting and queuing in any branch of Ding Tai Fung's restaurant in Taiwan, the last time I went there it took 90 - 120 minutes before we were seated. If you didn't have want to that long, you can also try it other stalls in night market it will cost much cheaper.

3. Steamed Dumpling aka Xiao Long Bao (小籠包)
Din Tai Fung also has the best xiao long bao, one of their signature dishes. Well, I could say it was worth the wait. Not only that, Din Tai Fung also famous with the quality of food is excellence. You can see how it was prepare carefully through aquariums of glass windows where groups of chefs, folding, steaming, rolling and stretching the dough.

4. Taiwanese Style Fried Chicken  (雞排)
This fried chicken is the most popular Taiwan Street Food. It's so crispy on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside, a must-try at any night market. There are some popular stalls that sell this delicious fried chicken such as HOT-STAR Large Fried Chicken (豪大大雞排), Two Peck Chicken Pie (2派克脆皮雞排), and many more.

5. Bubble Milk Tea (珍珠奶茶)
Milk tea and pearl are the best combination to make the most delicious Taiwanese bubble milk tea. Taiwanese really loves to drink milk tea, it's proven by how many milk tea shops in each area. Many variations of tea are served including black tea, jasmine tea, green tea and other mix-ins (such as honey, syrup, and sugar) and usually it's served cold rather than hot.

6. Lu Wei (滷味)
Basically it's a mix of meat, tofu, vegetables, dumplings and noodles braised in broth. The dish tastes really delicious combination of a little sweet, not too salty and of course you could add some chili (if you like spicy food). I would recommended to try this dish in Shida Night Market (師大夜市), the nearest MRT station is Taipower Building Station (台電大樓站).
