Shilin Night Market 士林夜市

MRT :  Jiantan Station (劍潭站) exit 1
Shilin night market is the largest and most popular in Taipei. Almost every tourist will go here to find Taiwanese snack in Shilin B1 Market. The most popularly food in here is the Oyster Omelet (蚵仔煎), which is made from fresh oysters, potato starch, eggs and vegetables

But of course there are many other foods and snacks you should try. Deep-fried cheese potato (起司馬鈴薯),  potato fried then fill with bacon, ham, corn, pineapple, broccoli, mayonise, sausage, hard boiled egg, etc. Finally, add two spoons of hot cheese on top of it.

Taiwanese style Fried chicken, it's so crispy on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside. There is a popular stalls in Shilin night market that sell this delicious fried chicken called HOT-STAR Large Fried Chicken (豪大大雞排).

Pan-fried stuffed buns is a very popular meal in Taiwan, the bun usually stuffed with cabbages and pork. This snack can be bought at night markets all over Taiwan.

If you want a small snack before leaving, the sweet potato ball might be your best choice. Its crispy, chewy, sweet and nice to be eat it on the way home.

Mango Shaved Ice (芒果冰), a perfect dessert on summer time, most restaurant offers many type of shaved ice, you can choice variety of toppings including different fruits, red beans, mung beans, yams, peanuts, chocolate sauce, and many more.

Modern Toilet - 便所主题餐厅, one of most popular theme cafe in Taipei. They have a branch in Shilin area but I never tried in that branch I always go to the other branch in Ximending.

Visit Jiufen & Eat Delicacy Street Food (九份)

   How to get there by public transportation from Taipei vias MRT  Zhongxiao Fuxing (忠孝復興站) exit 1, take bus no 1062 , stop at  stop at  Jiufen Old Street (九份老街)  station This is one of the most interesting place, like Taiwan in the olden days with many interesting shops and restaurants, along with the stunning ocean view of Keelung outer sea! Many tourist comes all the way to Jiufen to taste all those famous & delicious snacks of Jiufen, such as Glutionous rice cakes, Taro Balls, Rice Cake, Meatball, etc. This is  glutinous rice cakes, a Hakka dish that’s one of Jiufen’s most popular delicacies, you won't miss it since you will see the line people queuing for this.
